Martin Herman, CEO of Powerful Medical – serial entrepreneur and software developer, publishing his first app on the App Store at age 14 and founding his first startup at 18. Martin has been awarded multiple prizes, most recently being included in Forbes 30 Under 30 and nominated for the prestigious Slovakia Crystal Wing Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Innovations and Startups.
Before establishing Vestberry, Marek co-founded a Slovak company builder 0100 Ventures which manages coworking spaces, organizes private equity events, and manages an early-stage VC fund – Zero Gravity Capital. Previously Marek worked in Kuala Lumpur at an investment company Nova Founders Capital where he was responsible for the development of the portfolio companies, namely Private Equity Insights. Overall Marek lived and worked in 6 countries and attended universities such as the University of Manchester, Copenhagen Business School, Oxford Brookes University or Universit Paris-Dauphine.
I was born, raised and educated in Slovakia. After a stint in Slovakia teaching compiler theory, I came to the US, having been recruited by a Tier-1 Silicon Valley Venture Capital company. I have 25+ years of industry experience & over 100 patents. I founded Tachyum to disrupt markets by solving the processing performance plateau of nanometer class chips. At Skyera, I created ultra-dense solid-state storage systems, acquired by WD. I was co-founder and CTO of SandForce acquired by LSI in 2011 for $377M, chipset and GPU architect at nVidia, a CPU architect at Nishan Systems and Toshiba. Im the recipient of Slovakias Pribina Cross & an Advisor to the Slovak govt. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science and MS in Electrical Engineering.

I started wit work with diversity at my university where I joint the international organisation called AIESEC. I was leading the Slovak branch and together with my team of 7 professionals leading 300 volunteers. After AIESEC I was helping different tech companies to expand to EU and the USA. Actually thanks to AIESEC I traveled to 30+ countries, encountered different coulters and during my expansion carer I started to study and work with diversity. Thanks to these experiences I understood how diversity and inclusion can change the society once they are grasped in a complex and strategic way. In 2019 when I returned from Sam Francisco I cofounded Lumus and BE-ID human – whereas both projects are tackling DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion).

I graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava. After graduation I joined Accace as a junior tax consultant. I have been working in Accace until now. I have been through various positions, currently I am a managing director and partner. I am the founder of #accacelife, a non-profit organization that also hosts an accelerator program for seed-stage startups. In addition, I am the founder of family office Invace, which has already invested in several startups in the CEE region. As an advisor, I have assisted dozens of startup founders from the CEE region with negotiating terms in term sheets or investment documents.
